Sit down and join us!
Welcome to the C U Next Tuesday Whiskey and Cigar Club, Founding Chapter!
During the dark days of the Covid-19 pandemic (Spring of 2020), four friends sat down with some whiskey and cigars, socially distancing in the great outdoors while our significant others shopped at the grocery store. Since there were restrictions on how many people were allowed in the store at the time, the partners went in while we sat down to have a wee dram and a stick. It then became a regular weekly event for us to connect during lockdown. Finally one day, one member said to the others “I’ll see you next Tuesday!” and we all laughed and laughed. Why? Go ask your father.
We then started calling ourselves the See You Next Tuesday club and over time added a few close friends. Coming out of the Pandemic, now years later, we’ve added several other members and still get together each week. There is no attendance requirement and we make sure our members understand the importance of family commitments over cigars and whiskey.
While we started as whiskey newbs, we took the time to educate ourselves. Members began to coordinate their bottle purchases. Then we even starting to watch documentaries, read about whiskey and listen to podcasts etc. in order to understand our new found obsession. Bottle collections of 3 to 5 turned into 50-60. We created a cheat sheet google doc for liquor store delivery days and curated relationships with their staff in order to hunt for allocated bottles – and we had some nice success.
Code of the CUNTs (more like guidelines really):
If you come to a meeting: contribute. A whiskey to share, snacks, or just great conversation.
Drink it how you like it. We prefer starting with Glencairn glasses and trading tasting notes before pouring over a big cube of ice or putting it in a cocktail. But if that’s not for you, enjoy how you like.
Only invite those with a genuine interest in excellent whiskey and/or cigars accompanied by quality conversation. Ideally this is a place to converse about Life, the Universe, and Everything. Respect each other’s ideas without ridicule. Seek first to understand.
Whiskey is meant to be enjoyed, not displayed. Tomorrow is not promised, so crack that bottle today!
We’re not bottle flippers. Any access we get to special releases or barrel picks are to be enjoyed, not sold on the secondary market. Doing so will prevent access to future releases.
We take our enjoyment of whiskey seriously, but not ourselves.
All are welcome: We do not discriminate based on race, creed, religion, gender identity, favorite sports team, political affiliation, style of facial hair, career choice, or if you’re a newb.
Be a CUNT, but don’t be a cunt.
CHEERS!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Quite simply, we’re a bunch of humans who like to get together periodically to smoke cigars and drink whiskey. We started during the Covid pandemic and kept going.
Meh. Kinda? Do you know us? Do we know you? Membership requires vouching by a current member. Feel free to reach out to one of our members through the form below or through one of their social media accounts.
Well, you certainly can. If you’d like to be affiliated with us, we will even be putting together a package which will include the design of your club’s logo, some sitckers to put on your Yeti, Stanley, or whatever mugs the kids are carrying these days and a charter certificate with your founding members and the rules. How much? I don’t know. Probably around $50 or so. We just want to cover the costs and encourage friends to get together IRL. When this option launches, we’ll let you know. Fill out the contact form and we’ll email you updates as well.
Visit our store at the top of the page. Basically we’ll sell everything at a very very slim margin and use the proceeds to support our web hosting, administrative costs, etc. If we ever collect more than a few hundred bucks – we’ll decide as a chapter/organization what charity to donate most of it to.
While we focus on hand-rolled premium cigars, we certainly smoke a wide range. We usually stick to brands like Alec Bradley, Rocky Patel, Gurkha, Cohiba, Hoyo de Monterrey, Padron, etc. But smoke what’ya like. We often bring our herf-a-dors with enough to trade and share.
The answer is “Yes.” Bourbon, Scotch, Irish, Asian, French, English, American, Canadian – We’ve had them all. We primarily focus on Scotch and Bourbon. There’s no rules though, drink what you like!
We have learned so much about whiskey and cigars since we started getting together. Often, we’ll actually plan ahead and coordinate the night’s offerings. Check out our Instagram and see some of the lineups for past evenings and our adventures in some amazing products. It’s difficult to organize that kind of stuff without at least a few individuals committed to consistently getting together. A Club allows you to say: “Hey next meeting, let’s all bring peated Scotches and try them side-by-side!” (or something like that.) This way, you end up training your nose, your palate, trying something new, and expanding your knowledge and enjoyment of cigars and whiskey!
Nope. Just apparel and accessories for enjoying them. All whiskey and cigars we feature, drink or review were purchased by individuals of our club unless otherwise noted.
